ADAPTIC Non-Adhering Dressings are primary dressings made of knitted cellulose acetate fabric and impregnated with a specially formulated petrolatum emulsion. They are designed to help protect the wound while preventing the dressing from adhering to the wound. They help to prevent dressing adherence, protect regenerating tissue and minimizes patient pain and trauma during dressing changes, prevent the pooling of fluid at the wound site and allows exudate drainage to easily pass through to the secondary absorbent dressing. Adaptic dressings may be cut to wound size without unraveling and shredding. In addition, Adaptic dressings are good choices for wounds that may be dry or even heavily-draining, where the adherence of dressings is best for healing. Such situations might be: 1st and 2nd degree burns, Skin Abrasions, Skin Grafts, Venous ulcers, Pressure sores, Nail extractions, Eczema, Staples, Surgical incisions, Lacerations, Reconstructive procedures and Suture lines.
